Under the Folding Sky by Justin Peck is an intricate and expansive ensemble ballet inspired by James Turrell?s ?Twilight Epiphany? Skyspace. Set to music from Philip Glass?s 1982 opera The Photographer, the work builds from simple rhythms into powerful momentum. Sweeping group formations create a cosmic sense of flight, weaving together artful threads of motion that seem to fold the sky itself, inviting audiences to lift their gaze towards something vast, collective, and cathartic.
