Soul Kinda Wonderful return to it with style and genuine connection, led by Richie Sampson, who performed alongside former Drifters members Ray Lewis, Billy Lewis, Butch Leak and Roy Hemmings. This is music built on melody, romance and rhythm, from the easy sway of "Under the Boardwalk" to the elegance of "Save the Last Dance for Me", the rooftop longing of "Up on the Roof" and the sweet nostalgia of "Kissing in the Back Row of the Movies". The show also nods to the wider circle of voices who helped shape the group’s legacy, including Ben E. King, Clyde McPhatter and Johnny Moore, with songs such as "Spanish Harlem" and "Stand by Me" adding even more soul to the evening. More than a nostalgic run through familiar hits, this is a celebration of the vocal craftsmanship that made The Drifters such an enduring force in rhythm and blues. Expect rich harmonies, sharp presentation and a setlist full of songs that never seem to lose their charm.
